Spero Foods makes vegan cheese from sunflower seeds and coconut oil
Los Angeles-based start-up Spero Foods produces plant-based cheeses that are “delicious, healthy and sustainable”. The company produces eight flavours of vegan cheese: The Goat, The Smoked, The Paprika, The Herb, The Tomato, The Blue, The Cam and The Cinn. The main ingredients in all the variations are sunflower seeds and coconut oil.
Spero Foods was founded by a software engineer turned food entrepreneur Phaedra Randolph, who set out to make plant-based diets tastier, more convenient and sustainable. Randolph is now working towards expanding her products to include meltable cheese, cream cheese and yoghurts.
